Internship at the Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory at USACH
3 New Yeast Strains Found at Our School in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Research!
Our students Anita Mejía, Leonor Acuña and Raimundo De Carlos from 11th grade have successfully completed their internship at the Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory at USACH.
During their internship, they managed to isolate and identify 3 yeast strains from the Saccharomyces genus, from trees on the school grounds, which they have named TMS1, TMS2, and TMS3 in honor of our school.
This discovery will allow the study of new potential biotechnological applications in the production of various products such as bread, beer, kombucha, among others.
We are very proud of you!
